Move Food Spring 2017 Newsletter

Dear Move Food Supporters,

It’s been a few months since our last update, but we are back with plenty to talk about and some great opportunities to help the neediest members of our beautiful city.

Pilot Program
We are proud to announce that Move Food has completed the software for our pilot program, which we will be launching in the next few months. If you have signed on as a Food Source or a Food Mover for the pilot program, you will be receiving an email soon requesting brief answers to a few questions. Stay tuned!

Movers Needed
If you have already volunteered as a Food Mover, thank you! We are looking for additional Food Movers for the pilot program, so if you have friends who might be willing to participate, please tell them to email Kip at mover@movefood.org or sign up here.

Spring Fundraising Campaign
As everyone knows, it was a rough winter and the number of hungry Portlanders continues to grow. Your current support means everything and we would love your continued support as we ramp up in advance of the pilot program. We urgently need more contributions over the next few months. Please consider donating so we can hit our target of $10,000. All donations are tax deductible.

Get Involved!

Most importantly, thank you for staying involved. Together, we can make a huge difference.

Sincerely,
Kip

Move Food Pilot News and Generosity.com Fundraiser

Move Food is close to finishing a pilot version of the software system and is beginning the planning stages for a closed pilot. This will help us validate our work, gain real world input, and provide a tangible experience for businesses and organizations to work with and support Move Food.

We took a very deliberate approach in researching and finding the right company to partner with for consulting and development. We wanted to make sure they truly understood the Move Food vision and goals and were interested in working with us for the long haul and with our slightly unconventional approach. We found that partner with Favorite Medium.

After several weeks of discussions and planning and a short intense development sprint, will will be wrapping up the pilot version next week (the week of September 25th). We are incredibly excited about this and very grateful for the thoughtful and direct approach working with Favorite Medium.

We have just launched a new fundraiser with Generosity.com (Indiegogo) to cover development overhead costs. Please consider donating and sharing widely. You can also use this link to share: https://igg.me/at/G3ioH8n5yBY

Thank you.

Because No One Should Be Hungry.

Welcome to Move Food.

Move Food is a system that connects Sources with extra food to Movers who pick up the food and deliver to Destinations– either pre-designated or ad hoc.

Sources can be from restaurants, catering companies, hotels and the like.

Movers are people who have some extra time on their hands to do something good.

Destinations are people and places who need a good meal.

We make it that simple.

Please bookmark or rss our site, follow us on FaceBook and/or Twitter and provide us with thoughts, feedback or just spread the word.

For more information, please visit our Get Involved Page.

Thank you!
